Communications Coaching Service Targeted Toward Executives, Experts, Key Opinion Leaders

Barks Communications has solidified its commitment to its clients' lifelong learning by formalizing its communications coaching services.

"The most direct route to your speaking and media success is guided by the steady hand of a communications coach," said company President Edward J. Barks.

"It is impossible to improve your communications skills in a single day," he added. "The great communicators realize it takes a healthy dose of practice and commitment. Our coaching services support our clients who believe in lifelong learning."

Barks suggests the types of leaders who could benefit from a coaching relationship:

  • Executives who need to drive their companies to the top, then keep them there
  • Managers who want to accelerate their career path
  • Authorities with a high stakes speaking or media interview opportunity in the near future
  • Key opinion leaders who are continually frustrated by their inability to overcome a public speaking shortfall
  • Experts who are plagued by a weak message
  • Presenters who cannot get the hang of using presentation software
  • Professional speakers who need to sharpen their platform skills
Barks accepts a limited number of coaching clients, with new engagements added as availabilities allow. Program details are located on the company's web site at www.barkscomm.com/coaching.

Barks works closely with its coaching clients to determine what communications skills need sharpening. They have the flexibility to work with Barks once a week, once a month, or anything in between.

The coaching engagement typically begins with a one-hour diagnostic meeting conducted either in person or over the telephone. That initial session offers some quick improvement strategies and sets the framework for future learning. A minimum of three follow up telephone appointments are held to reinforce the teaching over time.

Presentation skills coaching clients receive Barks' guide, Keep the Audience on Your Side: The Public Speaking Companion and his audio CD, "The Three Keys to Great Presentations™." Media coaching clients gain his media guide, Face the Press with Confidence: The Media Interview Companion along with the same CD. In addition, they can take advantage of preferred rates for Barks' communications training workshops.

Ed Barks is a trainer, author, and speaker who teaches today's leaders how to work with the media and how to deliver dynamic, message-packed presentations. He has served as President of Barks Communications since its inception in 1997, guiding more than 2000 business leaders, government officials, non-profit leaders, physicians, athletes, association executives, entertainers, and public relations staff toward a sharper message and enhanced communications skills. As a former radio broadcaster and journalist, Ed can pass along firsthand knowledge about the tricks and techniques of the reporting trade.
