Government Relations Experts to Gain Media Relations Essentials
Professionals responsible for their association’s relations on Capitol Hill, in federal agencies, and at state legislatures will sharpen their media relations skills when Ed Barks presents “Reporters Don’t Hate You” on June 17. His presentation takes
place during the American Society of Association Executives’ (ASAE) Government Relations School in Washington, D.C.
“While most government relations pros are skilled when it comes to communicating with public officials, they often fail to recognize that dealing with the media is an entirely different ballgame,” Barks said. “’Reporters Don’t Hate You’ explains
how they can master media interviews, learn what reporters need from them, and gain the knowledge to transform tough questions into manageable inquiries.”
Register online for the June 16-17 conference at ASAE’s web site.
Specifics of Barks’ presentation are as follows:
- Date: Thursday, June 17, 2010
- Time: 10:15 to 11:30 a.m.
- Place: International Trade Center; 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW; Washington, D.C.
