Training Consultant Issues New “Hot Tips” Guides to Media, Public Speaking

Speaking in public and dealing with reporters just got easier thanks to two booklets released today that are chock full of practical and easy to implement tips.

“These at-a-glance references are designed to serve as an everyday guide to executives seeking to refine their media and presentation skills,” said Barks Communications President Ed Barks, the author of both booklets. “Each resource provides food for thought when it comes to communicating effectively in public forums, no matter your level of sophistication.”

Ed Barks’ Hot 100 Media Tips begins by urging readers to “Think of every interview as a business deal” and ends with advice to “Maintain a positive attitude.” Each tip is supported by a sentence or two that offers more depth.

Among the suggestions offered in Ed Barks’ Hot 100 Public Speaking Tips: “Work on your speaking strengths first. Work on your speaking challenges over the long run. Embrace lifelong learning and enhance your performance as a public speaker.”

Barks makes both guidebooks available to his clients and to others on a selective basis.

“These new learning resources are not intended to supplant our comprehensive works like The Truth About Public Speaking: The Three Keys to Great Presentations,” Barks explained. “They provide one more avenue of learning for our clients in need of a quick on-the-go review.”

Ed Barks works with corporate and association executives who deal with reporters and members of Congress, and with public affairs experts who want a seat at the decision-making table. The former radio broadcaster is the author of
The Truth About Public Speaking: The Three Keys to Great Presentations. As President of Barks Communications since 1997, he has taught more than 3000 business leaders, association executives, government officials, athletes, entertainers, non-profit executives, and public relations staff how to succeed when they deal with the media, deliver presentations, and testify before government officials.
